Privacy Policy
Black Raven Mysteries is a sole proprietorship owned by Ayush Agarwal, with its principal place of business at Flat No. B-1609, 16th Floor, Tower B, Keya The Lake Terraces, 100ft Road, Neotown, Electronic City Phase 1, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560100. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
We keep this simple on purpose. We are a small business selling mystery games. We collect what we need to take your order and send you your case, and nothing beyond that.
1. What we collect
When you place an order:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Your delivery address (only if you order a printed kit)
- What you ordered, the amount, and a payment reference from Razorpay
When you join our mailing list: your email address.
When you unlock an answer key: your email address, and the case you are unlocking.
Automatically, when you visit: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which may include your IP address, browser type and the pages you viewed. We use this only to keep the site running and secure.
2. What we never collect
We do not collect or store your card number, CVV, UPI PIN, net-banking password or any other payment credential. Those are entered on Razorpay's secure systems and never reach us. We only ever see a transaction reference and whether the payment succeeded.
3. Why we use it
- To fulfil your order — to email your digital file, to post your printed kit, and to send you a confirmation.
- To support you — to answer questions, resend a file, replace a damaged kit, or fix a broken QR link.
- To watermark your digital file — each PDF carries the buyer's name or order reference, which is how we discourage files being shared.
- To keep our records — we keep an order log so we can handle refunds, replacements and queries.
- To send you news about new cases — only if you asked us to. See section 6.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you, and we do not build advertising profiles from it.
4. Who else sees it
We share the minimum necessary with a small number of service providers:
- Razorpay — processes your payment and receives the details you enter at checkout.
- Our courier partner — receives your name, address and phone number, only when you order a printed kit, and only so they can deliver it.
- Google — we use Google Forms and Google Drive to run the answer-key page and to host case media, and Gmail to email your file.
- Our website host — serves this site and keeps the server logs described above.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone, ever. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights in a legal claim.
Some of these providers store data on servers outside India. By using the site you accept that your information may be processed outside the country.
5. How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them for support, accounting and tax purposes — normally up to eight years, which is the period Indian tax law expects. Mailing list data is kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs are kept for a short period by our host.
6. Marketing emails
We only send marketing emails to people who signed up for them, or who bought from us. They are about new cases and occasional offers — nothing else. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also just reply and ask us to stop. We will action it straight away.
Order confirmations, delivery updates and answer-key emails are not marketing, and you will receive those whether or not you are on the list.
7. Cookies
This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. If we add analytics in future, we will update this policy first and say so here.
8. Keeping it safe
This site is served over HTTPS. Payment data is handled by Razorpay, which is PCI-DSS compliant. Our order records are kept in access-controlled accounts. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care and we keep as little of your data as we can.
9. Your choices
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- Correct anything that is wrong;
- Delete your information, where we are not required to keep it;
- Stop sending you marketing emails.
Email info@blackravenmysteries.com and we will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that we do not hand your details to someone else.
10. Children
Our products are intended for players aged 13 and over, and our website is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us their details, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. Significant changes will be flagged to our mailing list.
12. Grievance Officer
In line with Indian law, the contact for any complaint about how we handle your personal information is:
