Terms & Conditions
1. Who we are
This website is owned and operated by Ayush Agarwal, a sole proprietorship trading as Black Raven Mysteries, with its principal place of business at Flat No. B-1609, 16th Floor, Tower B, Keya The Lake Terraces, 100ft Road, Neotown, Electronic City Phase 1, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560100.
Throughout this document, "we", "us" and "our" mean Black Raven Mysteries. "You" means the person browsing this website or buying from it.
2. Agreeing to these terms
By using this website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site or buy from us.
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published here is the one that applies. We will change the "last updated" date whenever we revise them.
3. What we sell
We sell fictional murder-mystery case files designed to be played by a group of friends. Each case is available in two formats:
- Digital edition — a PDF file delivered by email, along with QR codes that link to online photographs and audio recordings.
- Printed edition — a physical kit of printed documents, posted to your delivery address.
The solution to each case is not printed inside the file or the kit. It is held on a separate answer-key page, reached through a link or QR code included with your purchase.
4. Everything in our cases is fiction
All our case files are works of fiction. All characters, companies, places, documents, news reports, photographs, recordings and events in them are invented or used fictitiously. Any resemblance to real people, living or dead, or to real events, is entirely coincidental.
Our cases deal with crime, and some contain descriptions of death and violence. We recommend them for players aged 13 and over. Individual cases may carry a higher age recommendation, which will be shown on that case's page.
5. Orders and prices
All prices are shown in Indian Rupees (INR) and are the final amount you pay. We are not currently registered under GST, so no tax is charged separately on your order.
Placing an order is an offer to buy. Your order is accepted when we confirm it and either email your digital file or dispatch your printed kit. We may decline an order — for example, if an item is unavailable, if a price has been listed in error, or if we suspect fraudulent use of a payment method. If we decline an order you have already paid for, we will refund you in full.
We may change prices at any time, but a change will never affect an order we have already accepted.
6. Payment
Payments are processed by Razorpay, a third-party payment provider. Your card, UPI and banking details are handled entirely by Razorpay and are never seen or stored by us. Razorpay's own terms and privacy policy apply to that part of your transaction.
7. What you may and may not do with a case
When you buy a case, you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it for private, non-commercial play. You may print a digital case for your own group's use and play it as many times as you like.
You may not:
- Copy, share, upload, email, resell or otherwise distribute a case file or any part of it, in digital or printed form;
- Remove, hide or alter any watermark, order reference or copyright notice;
- Use a case, or any part of it, for a commercial purpose — including paid events, ticketed games, cafés, bars, escape rooms or corporate sessions — without our written permission;
- Publish the solution to a case, or share the answer-key page, anywhere publicly;
- Create adaptations, translations or derivative works based on a case.
Digital files carry a watermark that identifies the buyer. If a file is shared or leaked, it can be traced back to the order it came from.
8. Our intellectual property
All content in our case files and on this website — text, artwork, photographs, audio, layout, the Black Raven Mysteries name, and the raven crest — is owned by us or used with permission, and is protected by copyright and trade mark law. Buying a case gives you the licence described in clause 7, and nothing more.
9. QR codes, media and the answer key
Parts of each case are hosted online and reached by QR code. We will make reasonable efforts to keep this media available, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access, and we may move or re-host files. If a QR link stops working, email us and we will send you the media directly.
10. Things we cannot promise
We supply our cases "as they are". We have playtested them and believe each has a single, fair, logically reachable solution, but we do not promise that any particular group will solve a case, or that a case will be free of every error.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website or our products. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the order concerned.
This website may link to other sites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content.
11. Your account details
You are responsible for giving us accurate contact and delivery details. We cannot deliver a digital file to a wrong email address, or a printed kit to a wrong postal address, and we are not able to refund an order that failed for that reason. Please check your details before you pay.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka.
13. Related policies
Our Privacy Policy, Refund & Cancellation Policy and Shipping Policy also form part of these terms.
14. Contact
